Mukilteo Fairies - I Am Upon You (demo tape)

A buddy of mine waaaaaaay back in the day had a copy of this with a pink insert. I thought their name was great, so I had to check it out. Upon popping it into the boombox, screamy, crusty amazingness ensued  and that was my introduction to the legendary Mukilteo Fairies.

I've been looking for a copy of this one for years and I'm still on the hunt (ie., hit me up if you've got one to spare) but I stumbled across a good quality rip a while back and knew I had to share

Thrones / Behead The Prophet N.L.S.L. - Split 7"

How better to celebrate the midway point through the month of July than with a gloriously noisy split 7" by two amazing bands? First up we have the mighty Joe Preston solo project Thrones plowing through a cover of Blue Oyster Cult's "Blackblade." The b-side consists of three solid screamy rockers from Behead The Prophet N.L.S.L., who were lead by former Mukilteo Fairies vocalist Joshua Plague.

Mukilteo Fairies / Las Mordidas - Split 7"

Here are three more tracks from everbody's favorite grindy noise punks: The Mukilteo Fairies backed by one track from Las Mordidas (which featured members of bands such as Ignition, Fury, Circus Lupus, Monorchid, Skull Kontrol)

Mukilteo Fairies

The Mukilteo Fairies are of often mislabeled as 'punk' but were basically a screamy grindcore band. They are probably most famous for their hilarious name (a play on the name of a local ferry line) & for the bands that the members went on to play in. Today's download is a collection of all the songs from the Closet Check EP & a few compilation tracks, everything I've manged to track down by them so far.
Jason Reesce (also in: ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of The Dead, Honeybucket) John Quittner / Quitty (also in: Bastard Bitch, Behead the Prophet No Lord Shall Live, Brent's TV, Dukes of Burl, Honeybucket, Pinhead Gunpowder, The Special Friend, Tight Bro's From Way Back When, Witchypoo) Joshua Plague (also in: Behead the Prophet No Lord Shall Live, The Special Friend) Rebecca Basye (also in: The Emerald Down)
